We are looking for volunteers to work on our standing committees. Committee work is the soul of Reforma Nevada, as a committee member you will help us build a stronger organization, create change, get the word out, and make decisions on our behalf.
Below are the descriptions of what each standing committee is in charge of. Committee members shall serve one year with the possibility of re-appointment.
OUTREACH COMMITTEE
Plans and conducts outreach at community and professional events to promote Reforma Nevadas mission. Perform outreach to current and recent LIS students, schools, and librarian networks to recruit new members.
Current Projects:
Día de los Muertos Springs Preserve Altar Competition. The committee will be in charge of creating a themed altar while also establishing a presence in the community.
Reach out to local LIS students and LIS school cohorts in Nevada.
FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE
Organizes & coordinates year-round fundraising to help sustain chapter funds for scholarships, travel grants, memberships, and organization expenses.
Current Project:
We are looking to host a fundraiser in May, as a committee member you will help coordinate the event.
SOCIAL MEDIA COMMITTEE
Manage social media presence by creating, planning, and promoting organization events, efforts and sharing chapter information on our various social media sites.
SCHOLARSHIPS & GRANTS COMMITTEE
Manage the application process and review applications for Chapter Scholarships and grants.
